London’s Taxi Since 1947

Taxicabs have been defined as the “private sector of public transportation.” ABOUTOWN has expanded on that theme to include many forms of privately operated “shared-ride services” from school transit to airbus shuttles and on to paratransit and full municipal transit bus systems.

The original division began in 1947 and now has over 165 blue and white taxis. The ABOUTOWN fleet, operated by the company and independent business people, represents approximately one half of all the taxis in London. The taxi division operates on a custom G.P.S. and computerize camera system built and maintained by ABOUTOWN’s talented staff.
